Welcome to the Letters Department (English, Philosophy, and Foreign Language) at Navarro College. We are located on the second floor of the Albritton administration building in suite 222.
The Letters Department prepares students both professionally and personally to be contributing members of society. Through the mastery of the principles of composition and rhetoric, students become effective communicators of the written word. Through the study of literature, as well as philosophy, students grow not only in their sense of connectedness with the world at large, but also in their sense of responsibility for the community of mankind. The Letters Department seeks to provide a well-rounded education to students helping them to become not only critical thinkers but productive members of society who consider the ethical implications of their decisions.
We, as a faculty, are committed to your success. In addition to providing a dynamic learning environment in the classroom, instructors encourage students to meet with them outside of the allotted classroom time for tutoring as needed. The Letters Department offers students the means to achieve their goals in an atmosphere of respect and support.
