Navarro Finishes 4th in Final NJCAA Football Poll

NAVARRO FINISHES 4th IN FINAL NJCAA FOOTBALL POLL

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Navarro Bulldogs finished the 2012 football season as the No. 4 ranked team behind national champion Iowa Western when the final NJCAA Football Poll was released Monday.

The three-time SWJCFC Champion and back-to-back Heart Of Texas Bowl Champion Bulldogs added more lines to their tradition of football consistency Monday as the program finished among the NJCAA’s Top 5 for the sixth consecutive season.

Navarro, 61-10 since 2007, enjoyed its fifth consecutive bowl victory and its fifth straight season of 10 or more victories. The Bulldogs won the national championship in 2010, finished third in 2009, fourth in 2007 and 2012, and fifth in 2008 and 2011.

Unbeaten Iowa Western defeated No. 2 Butler 27-7 for the national championship Sunday at The Graphic Edge Bowl in Cedar Falls, Ia., and those two finished 1-2 in the final poll.  Snow College, on the strength of a 47-21 Carrier Dome Bowl win over Northeast Conference champion ASA, finished third in the balloting.
