Bulldogs top latest soccer poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Navarro Bulldogs climbed to the top of the latest NJCAA Women’s Division I Soccer Poll, released Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (12-2, 6-0), winners of 10 straight matches, zoomed to the top of the poll after shutout victories on the road Saturday over Jacksonville (1-0) and Sunday over Northeast Texas (6-0).  Navarro has posted shutout victories in four of its last five matches and has seven total for the year.  NC is 5-1 in six matches against Top 20 ranked teams.

Tuesday’s recognition comes on the eve of a crucial Region XIV battle here against No. 4 Tyler (14-1), a match postponed last week by rain and re-scheduled for 4 pm Thursday, Oct. 24.  Navarro won the opening meeting at TJC’s Pat Hartley Field, 3-2, and will try to complete a regular-season sweep that will go a long way in determining tournament seeding and hosting.
