Top-ranked Region 14 soccer champion Navarro is preparing for its District I Tournament competition November 9-10 at Chesley Field in Cisco.
Region II champion Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, plus Region V champion Cisco and runner-up Hill join the Bulldogs as tournament qualifiers.
Saturday’s semifinal pairings send the 14-3-1 Bulldogs against Hill College (8-6-2) at 3 pm, while Cisco (11-4-1) meets NEO (5-10-1) in a 6 pm match. Saturday’s winners will battle for the District I Championship at 3 pm Sunday.
Cisco claimed the Region V title with a 1-0 win over Hill on October 30. The Wranglers went 2-0-1 against Hill during the season. CJC took a 3-2 win at home on September 17, but settled for a 2-2 tie with the Rebels at Hillsboro.
NEO closed its regular season strong by winning its final 3 matches and took its first regional women’s soccer title since the program’s inception in 2008. Included among those victories was a 3-1 decision over last year’s Region II winner, Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa.
