CISCO — Third-ranked Navarro allowed one shot on goal in dismantling Hill, 5-0, Saturday and advanced to the District I Soccer Tournament final Sunday against host Cisco.
The Region XIV champion Bulldogs got goals from five different players, and outshot Hill 16-1. Kenia Medina played 75 minutes in goal, recording the lone save. Viridiana Moreno played the final 15 minutes.
At the 2:06 mark, Erica Pena made it 1-0 on a goal assisted by Trudi Carter. Four minutes later, at the 6:15 mark, Amanda Olson – assisted by Melina Prado – made it 2-0.
It would take the Bulldogs a little while to get back on the board, but when they did, it was quick and plentiful. Carter scored at the 49:21 mark on an assist from Shanise Foster, and less than three minutes later, Natalia Torres scored on a penalty kick to make it 4-0.
Chelsey Blacklock scored at the 57:41 mark to make it 5-0, as Joanna Nigro got the assist.
Region V champion Cisco won the other semifinal Saturday over Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, 2-0.
The championship game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
