KILGORE — Javelle Allen threw his fourth touchdown pass of the game as time expired, pushing Kilgore to a 37-31 victory over Navarro on Saturday at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium.

Allen completed touchdown passes in every quarter, his final going for 40 yards to Louis Daily after Navarro had called time out with 9.8 seconds remaining. Allen’s scoring pass to Louis Daily capped a 74-yard drive in 26 seconds without benefit of a Kilgore timeout.

It also ruined a remarkable comeback by Navarro, which drove 65 yards in the final two minutes for the tying score. Ke’Aun Kinner bolted into the end zone from 16 yards out on a pass from Carson Earp to close the 10-play drive at the :31 mark.

Up to that point, Navarro trailed the entire game. Kilgore scored on the first play of the game as Corey Davis scored from 68 yards. Navarro countered with a 28-yardfield goal from Carlos Macias. Kilgore scored on its next drive as Allen and Daily hooked up from 15 yards for a 14-3 Kilgore lead after one period.

Navarro closed the game to 21-17 at the half as Xavier Turner and Earp scored on touchdown runs of 4 and 18 yards, respectively. Kilgore answered with a 12-yard scoring pass from Allen to Eddie Smith.

Kilgore extended its lead in the third quarter to 28-17 as Allen found tight end Chris Chumley from 20 yards on third and long. Kinner cut that lead back down to one possession with a 26-yard scoring run.

Kilgore made it a seven-point lead early in the fourth quarter when Luis Sanchez banged home a 44-yard field goal.
