Navarro won its fifth straight over Blinn and took a 52-30-1 lead in its 83-game, ongoing series against the Buccaneers. The teams first met in 1948….The Bulldogs had their highest-scoring quarters of the young season Saturday when they produced 20 points during the middle periods of their game FB16 - Blinn 15against Blinn….At one stage Saturday, Navarro scored on six of seven possessions….NC got a season-high 246 rushing yards on 48 attempts by 8 runners Saturday. It was a third week of team rushing improvement — +91 yards since the opener against Georgia Military….Turner enjoyed his second 100-yard-plus rushing game of the season….Gordon has more carries than Turner (48-40), but both Bulldogs have surpassed the 300-yard rushing with two touchdowns apiece for the year….Six Navarro receivers have at least 8 catches, but none of them is named Dante Ellis-Thomas, who currently has the team lead in TD catches (3) after making a 20-yarder Saturday. Ellis-Thomas had TD receptions in all three NC games….Navarro owned time of possession (38:38)….Safety Matt Wright leads tacklers with 33 total and 20 solos…Dee Spencer recovered his second fumble of the season….Defensive Player of the Week David Orr shares the team’s sack leadership with OLB Tavares Thomas (3)….Other weekly defensive unit honors from Saturday’s game went to Wright (DB), James Judie (TNT) and Ty Thomas (ILB)….The Bulldogs take the week off and then play Northeastern Oklahoma A&M at Miami, Ok., and Arkansas Baptist at Little Rock before they return for homecoming October 8.
