DAYTONA BEACH, Fl. — Navarro Cheer posted a 97.40 in finals and finished runner-up in the 2017 National Cheerleaders Association Junior College Division.
Coach Monica Aldama’s Cheer squad entered Friday finals with the top qualifying mark in the three-team competition and appeared poised to claim its 13th national title since 2000. Navarro Cheer recorded a 97.62 during Thursday prelims and held a 1.15 point advantage over 2016 champion Trinity Valley (96.47) and third-place Garden City CC, Ks., (84.50).
On Friday, TVCC scored a 98.30 and Garden City CC, Ks., recorded an 87.03.
