Freshman midfielder Wasila Diwura added to her post-season awards collection Monday when she was named an NJCAA Division I Junior College Women’s Soccer First-Team All-American.
Monday’s NJCAA honor follows up Thursday’s notification from the United Soccer Coaches that Diwura earned Second-Team All-American recognition.
Diwura, from Ghana, sparked coach Alicia Wilson’s Bulldogs to a 16-2 season, the Region XIV Championship Game and Top 5 national ranking in two polls during the 2017 fall season.
Diwura totaled a team-high 36 points for Navarro, with 12 goals and 12 assists. She also had four game-winning goals during the course of the season.
