By taking online courses at Navarro College, you are joining a fast-growing number of people who are taking advantage of an exciting way to achieve their educational goals. The flexibility and convenience of an online class gives you the opportunity to access higher education while continuing to meet your family and occupational obligations. All students taking an online or hybrid course should...

  • Have access to a reliable, updated computer with an Internet connection (preferably high-speed),
  • have Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) to view these files, and know how to use these applications,
  • know how to download and install applications and plug-ins,
  • be able to navigate the Internet using a browser, such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, and
  • know how to send and receive e-mail and attach files to outgoing e-mail messages.

Are Online Courses Right for You?

The Readiness for Education at a Distance Indicator (or READI) measures attributes, such as learning style, technical competency, typing speed/accuracy and reading comprehension. READI is recommended for students who are considering enrollment in an online or hybrid course. Please allow approximately 25 minutes to complete the assessment. NOTE: Your results will not prevent you from taking an online course. To take the READI assessment, do the following:
