Bio: While a chemistry major at Kent State University, he was a captain of the freshman, and later, the varsity swim teams. The tragic events of May 1970 at the university did not keep him from returning to Kent State for his junior and senior academic years. After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree, Mr. Hammargren attended Texas A&M University where he earned a Master's Degree. He then began teaching at Navarro College in 1977. Since then, in addition to teaching chemistry full time, he served as the Division Director of Science, Mathematics, and Agriculture for several years, chaired the Executive Committee of the Faculty Affairs Committee, sponsored the Science Club, and conducted numerous chemistry demonstration shows. Mr. Hammargren has recently been selected to be the Chemistry Coordinator of Navarro College. His hobbies include photography and swimming.
