Applying for Financial Aid
Applying for financial aid typically begins with filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).The FAFSA is required if you want to be considered for any federal or state need based grants, loans, and jobs.
The FAFSA, however, may not be the only application you need to fill out. If you’re interested in, for example, scholarships, you will need to fill out at least one more application. Additionally, some grants, such as the TEXAS Grant, may require an additional application. Are you interested in being a work-study? Yep, that’s one more application.
So, why all of these applications?
Financial aid comes from more than one source. And, while many sources require that you first fill out and submit a FAFSA, there may be additional information needed to determine eligibility for a particular type of aid.
