Semester Enrollment Rules

All Veteran Students must follow courses on his/her degree plan. In order to be considered a full-time VA student and receive full-time VA benefits (maximum pay), he/she must be enrolled as follows:

FALL SEMESTER

OPTION 1

Fall – 16 week classes:  Student must be enrolled in 12 hours or more.

OPTION 2

Fall – 16 week class: Student must be enrolled in 8 hours or more

and

Fall I – 8 week class: Student must be enrolled in 4 hours or more

and

Fall II- 8 week class: Student must be enrolled in 4 hours or more

OPTION 3

Fall I – 8 week class: Student must be enrolled in 6 hours or more

and

Fall II – 8 week class: Student be enrolled in 6 hours or more

OPTION 4

Fall – 12 week class: Student must be enrolled in 8 hours or more.

SPRING SEMESTER

OPTION 1

Spring – 16 week classes:  Student must be enrolled in 12 hours or more.

OPTION 2

Spring – 16 week class: Student must be enrolled in 8 hours or more

and

Spring I – 8 week class: Student must be enrolled in 4 hours or more

and

Spring II- 8 week class: Student must be enrolled in 4 hours or more

OPTION 3

Spring I – 8 week class: Student must be enrolled in 6 hours or more

and

Spring II – 8 week class: Student be enrolled in 6 hours or more

OPTION 4

Spring – 12 week class: Student must be enrolled in 8 hours or more.

SUMMER SEMESTER

OPTION 1

Summer I – 12 week classes: Student must be enrolled in 7 hours or more.

OPTION 2

Summer I – 12 week class: Student must be enrolled in 3 hours or more

and

Summer I – 6 week class: Student must be enrolled in 3 hours or more

and

Summer II – 6 week class: Student must be enrolled in 3 hours or more

OPTION 3

Summer I – 6 week class: Student must be enrolled in 4 hours or more

and

Summer II – 6 week class: Student must be enrolled in 4 hours or more

NOTE

 

  • Veteran Students who are using Federal Education Benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs must request for their courses to be certified by filling out the Request for Certification.  
  • Veteran Students can only be certified for courses that are on his/her degree plan unless he/she is in the last semester before graduation (i.e. All required courses have been fulfilled on said degree plan). In the event that a veteran student is in the last semester before graduation, he/she is authorized to take courses outside of said degree plan in order to reach full-time status.
  • Veteran Students can only be certified for repeat courses if the course was failed with an “F” grade, unless he/she is in the last semester before graduation. In the event that a veteran student is in the last semester before graduation, he/she is authorized to repeate courses that have met graduation requirements.
  • The VA will not fund any remedial courses that is taken online. All remedial courses must be taken in the classroom.
