The Navarro College Fine Arts Department provides an opportunity for students to explore their artistic interests, by offering a wide variety of music, theatre, art, and dance courses. Performance groups include Concert Band, College Chorale, Acting, Woodwind Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble, Marching Band, Collegiate Singers, Jazz Band, Brass Ensemble, Chamber Singers, and Percussion Ensemble. Several major theatre productions are mounted throughout year; and a large-scale spring musical is performed each spring. Dance classes are offered in a variety of different styles; art shows are given each semester; and keyboard skills are taught in a state-of-the-art computer lab. Furthermore, private instruction is available for all students, in the areas of voice, woodwind, piano, brass, guitar, and percussion.
All faculty members are highly-qualified and have real-world experience in their field, giving the students an extra, invaluable resource. The fine arts department also offers plenty of non-performance opportunities, by way of Music Appreciation, Art Appreciation, Music Theory, Introduction to Theatre, Drawing, Music Literature, Voice for the Theatre, Ear Training, and Photography courses.
