Sheila Herod - Director of Keyboard Studies
Responsible for the overall Keyboard Department; music instructor; and staff accompanist
In addition to her Navarro College teaching responsibilities, Mrs. Herod is an adjunct professor for Texas A & M - Commerce. She has been involved for many years with local churches, where she directs children's choirs, composes sacred works, and serves as accompanist, clinician, and staff assistant. Mrs. Herod is also active as an accompanist and M.I.D.I. consultant for musical theatre, public schools, churches, and civic organizations. She is the author of Proverbial Wisdom And Scriptures For Church Musicians . Mrs. Herod earned a Bachelor of Music from Baylor University , a Master of Music from Southern Methodist University, and has completed post-graduate work at Baylor University and Southern Methodist University. She continued to pursue her piano work with Dr. Max Lyall in San Francisco and Roger Keyes at Baylor University . Her honors include Notable Women of Texas, Personalities of the South, Employee and Sponsor of the Year at Navarro College , and Who's Who of American College Instructors.
