The collections in the Navarro College Archives are divided into four broad divisions: Special Collections, College Archives, Community Archives, and Rare Books. The Archives has acquired through donation and purchase a substantial collection of rare books. The collection includes one-of-a kind volumes written by local writers, local histories, and first editions. Rare books are accessible through the Navarro College Library's Dynix Library Automation system, an electronic card catalog and management system. Patrons may search for books using a book title, author, any number of key word searching strategies, or subjects. Because of their unique nature, rare books are shelved in closed stacks and may not be checked out. |
