Dancing For Our Stars Helps Fund Scholarships for Navarro College Students

November 17, 2017 – Corsicana, TX – The Navarro College Foundation is pleased to announce that the annual fundraiser Dancing for Our Stars will be held February 10, 2018 at the Navarro College Cook Education Center. This year’s performance will feature seven local celebrity dance couples who are already busy drumming up votes! Dance couples are: (top row) Chance and Lauren Kirk, Cheryl and Brett Blanton, Julie Mitchell and Markus Baldwin, (bottom row) Jamie and Barton Giessel, Heather and Jacob Wasinger, Kevin and Tracy Petty, and April and Jason Grant.

While the evening will be packed with entertainment and excitement as the couples perform their ballroom dance of choice and compete for the Navarro College Mirror Ball Trophy, the purpose of the event will be to raise funds to provide scholarship, for Navarro College students and faculty teaching innovation awards.

Individual tickets will go on sale January 3, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. and will be $80 per person. Seating is limited. The event will feature a cocktail reception, dinner and live entertainment.

The Navarro College Foundation is dedicated to assisting students obtain a great education by providing financial assistance through scholarships. Through the tremendous support from the community, the Navarro College Foundation has annually awarded over $200,000 in scholarships each year. “We are extremely fortunate to have the deep rooted community support of the Foundation’s fundraising events. All the funds raised from the event are used to provide scholarships for local students and improving classroom teaching,” said John Gantt, Dancing For Our Stars Committee Chairman.

The couples are receiving dance lessons at Corsicana’s “Shall We Dance” studio, with instruction from Diana Castillo and Adelaide Castillo. We thank the dancers and instructors for their commitment to this event.
