People anywhere in Limestone County or even nearby who are looking for a job – or a better job – are invited to attend a Career and Higher Education Fair on Friday, June 8, at the Mexia Civic Center from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Navarro College is putting on the fair so prospective employees and employers can connect and find out how Navarro can bridge the gap between the two.
Consequently, the fair will feature area businesses as well as programs offered through Navarro College to get workers trained for their preferred job field.
“Our goal is to help potential students link the programs we offer at Navarro with area employers who need workers with the skills gained through our programs,” said Navarro College South Dean Christina Mims.
Just some of the employers represented will be a local hospital, nursing home, hospice, manufacturing companies that builds satellites, antennas and trailers; and law enforcement agencies.
Navarro will have information on its career programs such as Welding, Criminal Justice, Nursing and Pharmacy Tech represented at the fair.
