Navarro College Phi Theta Kappa showed its support for the community when they partnered with local organizations, businesses, and individuals to send 26 care packages to troops overseas.

Organized by the chapter’s president, Teresa Roberson, the month-long project involved coordinating with the United States Postal Service to receive flat-rate shipping boxes, putting out a call for much needed supplies, stuffing the boxes, filling out customs forms, and acquiring sponsors for the shipping costs related to the order.

Members of Phi Theta Kappa are students with a cumulative 3.5 GPA and 12 semester credit hours at Navarro College.

An organization which dates back to 1946, Phi Theta Kappa has remained active throughout the years at Navarro College.

Each semester, Phi Theta Kappa works to perform community service activities in an effort to better both Navarro College and its surrounding community.  Phi Theta Kappa would like to send a very special “Thank you” to the local chapter of the Sons of Confederate Veterans #359, Moore Tire and Auto, as well as various individuals who donated private funds.  Without these organizations and individuals, the project could not have succeeded.

Any inquiries to Phi Theta Kappa should be directed to the organization’s sponsors Brandon Ford or Thomas Vance at: brandon.ford@navarrocollege.edu or tom.vance@navarrocollege.edu.”
