Corsicana, TX – July 3, 2015 – Navarro College was recently named the ninth best community college in the “Top 10 Best Community Colleges in Texas” report, according to schools.com.
The site used a 10-point scale, with six data points, to score the 66 public, two-year schools in the state of Texas. Navarro College ranked highest in affordability, online course offerings, graduation and transfer rates, and great student-to-faculty ratios.
Providing a quality education at an affordable cost is a top priority for Navarro College, which is why the tuition is more than 50% less than tuition at peer group colleges. In addition, 88% of students receive some sort of financial aid. Online course offerings provide students with the flexibility needed to work part-time, take care of their families, or get an education in the convenience of their own homes. In fact, Navarro College was also recognized as a Top 15 Online Community College in the nation earlier this year.
The report also mentioned the Cook Education Center Planetarium as a unique feature that Navarro College offers to the public and area schools for field trips, in addition to the students who attend the college throughout the year.
Navarro College was one of two central Texas community colleges recognized in the report with McLennan Community College coming in tenth.
