Each year the Navarro College Foundation solicits from members of the Navarro College faculty, administration, staff, and from current as well as former students, recommendations for the Foundation’s Teaching Excellence Award. This year two awards will be given: one award for five thousand dollars and one award for twenty-five hundred dollars. The five thousand dollar award will be limited to a faculty member who has attained the rank of full professor and has contributed substantially to the betterment of the college over the course of his or her teaching career. The twenty-five hundred dollar award is to recognize the outstanding contribution to teaching made by an assistant or associate professor and has contributed substantially to the betterment of the college over the course of his or her teaching career. Nominations for these awards were submitted by members of the Navarro College faculty, staff, administration, and student body during the previous nomination survey conducted April 10-15, 2013. The final candidates were selected based on the number of nominations each received.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who submitted a nomination for Teaching Excellence. The results of the nomination process has revealed many worthy candidates.
