Navarro College Board of Trustees has announced the beginning of the search process for the next District President of Navarro College.
The Board of Trustees opened the search for the District’s 8th President on September 25, 2017 after completing the candidate profile. The Board has appointed a Search Committee comprised of sixteen members from a cross-section of college interests. The composition includes two Trustee members, who will co-chair the committee; five community representatives that are Trustee appointed; four faculty members that represent each of the campus areas; two support staff/paraprofessional members; two administration members; and one student. Search coordinators are Dr. Richard Sanchez, District President; Ms. Marcy Ballew, Vice President of Human Resources; and Ms. Leslie Smith, Executive Assistant to the District President.
The deadline for candidates to submit application material will be December 1, 2017. The committee will then conduct interviews January 12-16, 2018 and finalists will be interviewed by the Board of Trustees January 29-February 2, 2018. The target date to announce the Board’s decision is February 22, 2018 with appointment date being March 22, 2018 after a required 21-day waiting period. If during the process a suitable candidate is not found, the search will be aborted and resumed at a later date.
“We are confident that with the diverse committee composition and the rigorous selection process, we are poised to find a leader that will be ready to take Navarro College into the future in a time where there are many factors affecting education,” said Navarro College Board of Trustees Chairman, Lloyd Huffman.
