Overview
The Bridge entry is based on a mobility curriculum with summer bridge or transition courses that allow LVNs (Licensed Vocational Nurses) to "bridge" the gap between Vocational Nursing Education and the second year of the Associate Degree Nursing Program.
Entry Requirements
Prospective LVN-RN Bridge applicants must meet all general Program admission requirements including attendance at a Program Information Session.
Special Licensure and Work Experience Requirements
• Current Texas Vocational Nursing License
• At least one year of full-time work experience as LVN (includes beginning GVN experience) or the equivalent if part-time work experience is to be considered.
• If an August graduate of the Navarro College Vocational Nursing Program and applying for admission the following summer, then may satisfy year's work experience with at least 9 months of full-time work experience (includes beginning GVN experience).
• Note: Work experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
Curriculum Overview
Upon successful completion of Bridge summer courses, LVN-RN Bridge students join the generic sophomore class and continue with the class to complete the final two semesters of the Program.
