Step 1: Admission to Navarro College
Step 2: High School or GED graduate
Step 3: Complete all three areas of the THEA exam
Step 4: Submit MLT program application with required documentation
• Application on file with Navarro College
• Transcripts from other colleges and universities or GED/High School diploma
• Documentation of THEA status
Note: Students are required to show proof of up to date immunizations (including Hepatitis B immunization) prior to clinicals. Students interested in any health care field are strongly recommended to being the Hepatitis B immunization series.
Additional Program Requirements
Immunizations
The Texas Department of Health Administrative Code requires that students enrolled in health-related courses, which will involve direct patient contact, meet the Department's requirements for immunization. This includes a complete series of Hepatitis B vaccine prior to the start of direct patient care. Initial, one month later, 5 months after the second immunization or show serologic confirmation of immunity. Students interested in the MLT program should begin their immunizations as soon as possible.
Clinical Agency Requirements
Students must meet all clinical agency requirements including negative drug screens, criminal background checks, and immunization.
