The Navarro College Occupational Therapy Assistant Program was reviewed for accreditation in April 2006. ACOTE reaffirmed accreditation status in August, 2006.
Upon completion of the program, OTA graduates are eligible to sit for the national certification examination for occupational therapy assistant administered by the National Board of Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Information regarding the requirements and dates of the certification examination are furnished to students as available from NCBOT:

After successful completion of this examination, the individual will be credentialed as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). In Texas, Occupational Therapy Assistants must be licensed by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners (TBOTE). Application for a license in Texas is directed to:

Upon accepting employment outside of Texas, it is the responsibility of the individual to determine the requirements for employment in the state or country in which employment is sought. Assistance in identifying contact agencies to determine requirements for OTA employment can be obtained by contacting the OTA program director.
