Bulldogs drill 13 three-pointers in 77-67 win at Paris

PARIS — Navarro hit a single-game high 13 three-pointers and put three players in double-figure scoring as the Bulldogs rallied for a 77-67 Region XIV basketball win Wednesday over the Dragons at The Hunt Center.

Coach Michael Landers’ Bulldogs (14-7/10-1) remained firmly entrenched in second place in the East Zone with their bounceback victory.  Slumping PJC, under new coach Bobby Taylor, dropped its fourth straight and eighth in 11 games.

Navarro’s three-point barrage marked the 7th time that it has hit 10 or more three-pointers in games this season.  It’s the 13th time the Bulldogs have drained 7 or more in contests.

Keir Anderson produced a 20/4/4/2 line to pace Navarro to its win.  Anderson reached double-figure scoring for the 20th time in 21 games for the Bulldogs.

Jamar Martin turned in his sixth double-double of the season, with 17 points and a team-high 11 rebounds to go with two assists and three steals.

Freshman D’Angelo Hunter, playing in his 10th game, fashioned a personal-high 12 points from 5-of-11 shooting, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal.

Hunter’s rebounding total was matched inside by Eric McCullom, who also sank seven points and blocked a shot for the 9th game in his last 11.  McCullom has a team-high 31 blocked shots this season.

Nine players contributed to a 40-rebound total — NC’s highest in 4 games.  Nine players chipped in for 18 assists and 8 players made 12 steals.

The Bulldogs return to the K. and Ida Wolens Special Events Center for a 4 pm Saturday, Jan. 30., conference matchup with the Panola Ponies.
