NASHVILLE, Tn -- Navarro College and Tennessee State University graduate Wayne Martin signed his first contract to play professional basketball with Prishtina BC in the Kosovo-SuperLeague. "I don't think I've ever been more proud of an individual than I am of Wayne Martin," TSU head coach Dana Ford said. "He's a college graduate of Tennessee State University and now he's a professional basketball player.  All the credit belongs to Wayne and his mom and their willingness to allow us to help him become who he is today." Martin starred for the Tigers for the last two seasons, helping lead TSU to back-to-back winning seasons. After transferring to TSU from Navarro College, the 6-foot-7 forward put up 12.8 points and 9.1 rebounds per game in his two seasons in Nashville. "Coach (Dana) Ford got me ready for the real world and for professional basketball," Martin said. Martin led  TSU with 14.4 points per game en route to Second Team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors in 2016-17. He dominated on the glass, finishing second in the OVC with 9.2 rebounds per game and tying for third in the conference with 10 double-doubles as a senior. Martin also earned NABC Second Team All-District 19 and BOXTOROW First Team...

Coach Swede Trenkle's team (6-1) hit seven three-point shots during the flurry and finished with 10 for the game.  The Rebels exploded from a 12-10 lead from the 11-minute mark of the first half into a 42-14 edge a little more than nine minutes later. Navarro, an 86-83 winner at Hillsboro on November 5, trailed 45-20 at halftime. The Rebels then added seven more unanswered to assume their largest lead (52-20) with 16:00 remaining. Freshman guard Cris Boleware finished Navarro's second-half comeback from 10-point deficits by hitting two baskets inside the final :13 as the Bulldogs handed high-scoring Temple its first loss of the season, 83-82. Boleware, one of six Bulldogs in double-figure scoring, scored all 12 of his points during the final 20 minutes as coach Michael Landers' Navarro squad (4-1) opened play Thursday in the 3rd Annual Lewis Orr Classic. Navarro trailed 81-79 when Boleware slashed in from the left side and used glass for a game-tying layup with :12.4 to go.  During Temple's wild return trip downcourt, Toney Foster committed his fourth foul when he got tangled with Keyunta Watkins at :08.4.  Watkins hit 1 of 2 for an 82-81 Leopard lead. The Bulldogs inbounded and called timeout with :4.0 after crossing midcourt.  An errant shot from the right side was tapped out front, and Boleware picked up the loose basketball and pitched in a 16-footer at the buzzer for the winner. Both teams punched and counter-punched with nice runs punctuated by turnovers during the frantically paced, intense game. Navarro hit 13 of its first 20 shots and built a 30-17 lead, but Temple (5-1) stormed back for a 46-41 halftime advantage. The Leopards took advantage of four NC turnovers at the outset of the...
