04 Jun Alumni Spotlight: Nancy Lane
Nancy Lane, Class of 2006
MY NAVARRO EXPERIENCES
“I graduated from Ennis High School and received a Caston scholarship to attend from 2004-2006.
“Probably some of my favorite memories are from being an RA working for Ms. Emilia Cummings, and doing rounds with my fellow RAs. I still keep in touch with several of the other RAs, and the friends and that I had through choir and other on campus activities that led to deep friendships that I still have and treasure today.
“Dr. Stringer was also incredibly influential in my time at Navarro. He really cared about each individual student and was always genuinely interested in my life, and I really appreciate that. Not long ago, he took the time to track me down and mail me some pictures that had been taken of me when I was in theatre program 15 years ago, and that was just one of the many things he did for so many students like me. I had many jobs on campus working to pay for college but it actually turned out to be a good thing. I really had an incredible experience at Navarro and then went on to graduate from Dallas Baptist University.
“After living overseas for nearly a decade, I have moved back to Ennis, Tx with my husband and our two kiddos and I started a graphic design business (Firefly Graphic Design)”.
MY FAVORITE QUOTE
“Start Now. Start where you are. Start with fear. Start with pain. Start with doubt. Start with hands shaking. Start with voice trembling but start. Start and don’t stop. Start where you are and with what you have. Just…start.” – Ijeoma Umebinyuo
