Welcome to the Navarro College Shout Out page. People all around us are being awesome. Let's celebrate it! Did someone just make your day or make someone else's life easier?
This page was initiated to support and boost the morale of all NC employees and promote a positive campus spirit. "Shout Outs" are a public recognition of thanks or appreciation. We want to give recognition to the great works done by many individuals, departments, and others, on a day-to-day basis.
Some worthy shout out actions include taking a leadership role in a situation or a project, showing great teamwork, using innovation and creativity to find solutions, providing amazing customer service, engaging in community service, supporting student success, raising the bar on process improvement and advancements, and modeling the NC way with their behavior.
Want to make a SHOUT OUT? Just complete the Nomination form on the bottom of the page to make your shout out heard. Once the form is submitted, a moderator will review and then proudly display your submission on this page. Random submissions will also be posted on social media such as Facebook and Twitter.
May 14, 2021 I'd like to thank Renee Ramsey for being the best advisor. She has been a major help these last two years. I'd also like to thank my Spanish professor, Catherine Kraft for being a wonderful professor. It shows that she really cares for her students and goes above and beyond for her students. I'd also like to thank Professor Rury, for being incredibly patient and kind. I really admire your teaching skills. Thank you! Kassandra |
May 13, 2021 Professor Brad Richardson! What can I say sir...A lot! Every class you taught at NC, I took and enjoyed each class. From Criminal Investigations, Crime in America, Policing, etc.. You are a former law enforcement officer and an instructor of Criminal Justice and it is my pleasure during my graduation as a student to give you, your flowers for the heart, soul and love of the Criminal Justice profession that was so evident to see while taking your courses. I appreciate the knowledge, advice and expertise you gave me during my journey and as life moves forward to graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington with a B.A. degree in Criminology in the next year...You played a huge part in my drive, determination and love in our field of study. Many blessings to you and your family and know you did impact my life with your teachings. Shelly Traylor |
May 10, 2021 Mrs. Danielle Pillans is a pillar in this community. She cares deeply about the school, students and community. She allowed our (volleyball) team to succeed and made sure they felt loved. She is the definition of a team mom, even without having a biological player on the team. We appreciate the time and effort she put into loving on our girls! She is the definition of a caring educator. Our lives have been blessed by her. We love you!! Brooke Alverson |
May 8, 2021 A lot happened in my personal life during my time at Navarro. Mrs. Evelyn Glass always believed in me even when I didn't. Without her pushing me and guiding me, I would have never made it. Jerry Tucker |
May 6, 2021 Professor Heather Hall (ADN program) truly went above and beyond to make sure we received the best possible education that could be provided. She truly cared about each and every one of us. She does not just go through the motions, but instead listens and tries to understand. No matter where we're we're in the program she never made me feel small or insignificant. She's the type of professor that wants you to succeed and will do whatever she can to help you get there. Thank you for everything Mrs. Hall, you're truly an inspiration! Ella Presley |

May 5, 2021 Shout out to my A&P/Micro instructor, Mrs. Peggy Anderson and the Corsicana ADN Bridge Program cohort instructors including Mrs. Lisa Lindsey, Mrs. Cayla DeMoss, and Mrs. Julie Arteaga. Every one of these ladies played a huge part along my journey in receiving my associates in nursing. Mrs. Anderson paved the way for me in my prerequisite courses. Her belief in me of becoming an RN along with her dedication and encouragement is what kept me going when I felt I could not. Mrs. Arteaga for allowing me the opportunity to further my education by accepting me into the LVN-RN Bridge program. She is quick in response to questions/concerns and has provided great guidance along the way. She manages strictly by the books, but is also willing to look into issues that arise and will make decisions based off fairness of the situation. Mrs. DeMoss for providing me reassurance when I would become paralyzed due to my high anxiety during validations. Through her calm demeanor, she was able to bring me out of my state of panic never once making me feel as though she was judging me. Mrs. Lindsey...this woman has been my clinical instructor from day one. She is the instructor that keeps you on your toes and expects you to know your stuff. She does not clear the clutter in order to make the path easy, which means you have to put in the effort yourself in order to be able to accomplish your goals. She makes you earn it!. Because of her, I know I am ready to take on the role of the RN. Through her inspiration, I obtained the courage to overcome my anxiety and fears and developed a spirit within to become the best RN I can be. One last shout out...Mrs. Heather Hall!!! You are awesome! From the bottom of my heart....THANK YOU!!! Chelsea Nunn |

April 26, 2021 I would like to thank Mrs. Beck and all the math teachers including Mrs. Parton and Mr. Patterson because without them I would not be the person I am today. I was lost when I came to Navarro College and had come into Navarro thinking I would like to be a computer programmer but I learned that math was my strong point and that I would to become a math teacher. Every math teacher is amazing at Navarro and enjoyed every minute with them. I go down the hall just to say hi and let them know how much they have changed my life. April 26, 2021 I would like to recognize Ms. Evelyn Glass. She is an absolutely amazing professor. I am excited to graduate, but I will certainly miss her. She is a professor that truly cares about her students. I went through some personal problems my second semester in her program and almost lost everything. She was very caring and encouraging. She assisted me in getting books from the career center and she was very supportive on the few of times that I needed to miss class due to my situation. I almost gave up, but I managed to push through because of her encouragement. I have been with many professors. She is my absolute favorite. She is very stern and disciplined. I love that she pushed us to do our very best. Even in her last semester before retirement and our graduation, she is still giving her all. She is very concerned about us getting a job that treats us fairly and pays well. She has given us so much advice. A true wealth of knowledge and truly caring person will be missed terribly. I am forever impacted by this amazing woman. I am so blessed to have been taught by the best! Shawn Slack |
April 26, 2021 I like to simply thank Mrs. Syma Moody at the Corsicana location she’s literally pushed me to finish with me having a sick mom when I started and having to take a break when she passed, Mrs. Moody truly motivated me and I thank her for that. Keshauna Paul |
