Making Your Transfer Decision

Deciding where to transfer is an important step in your academic journey. This guide will help you plan your courses, explore transfer options, adn connect with advisors and faculty to make infored choices. By following these teps at each stage of your college credits, you can maximize your opprotunities an ensure a smooth transition to your next insititution.

 

0-15 Credits: Explore Your Options

  • Meet with College and Career Success Coach to choose major and review degree plan

  • Review your career assessment with your College and Career Success Coach

  • Research your transfer options - Visit the websites of other institutions to review the majors offered and their transfer admission requirements.

  • Make a list of institutions you would like to learn more about - Select at least three. Consider location, type of institution, programs offered, size, cost, and resources on campus 

 

 

16-30 Credits: Plan Ahead

  • Maintain a strong GPA  - complete the College's scholarship application every year; the higher the GPA, the more scholarship opportunities available to you.

  • Attend Transfer Events - each fall and spring semester, Navarro College hosts Transfer Fairs and workshops facilitating direct communication with transfer institutions. 

  • Confirm your Academic Pathway - Visit with a College and Career Success Coach to confirm your current associate degree is the best fit for your intended bachelor’s degree. Are you taking the correct courses for your transfer institutions of interest? Plan ahead to maximize the transfer of your courses.

  • Consult Faculty - Navarro College faculty are experts in their field of study. They will know what it is like to work in your profession of interest and can recommend steps to take and possible transfer institutions to consider.

 

45+ Credits: Confirm and Finalize

  • Confirm your graduation requirements 

  • Transfer - you will need to begin the admissions application and enrollment process. Because this can be a long process, it is recommended you begin early.

  • Graduation - To submit a graduation application or check on the status of an already submitted form, visit the graduation page.

 

Talk to an Advisor

  • Schedule an appointment to visit with a Navarro College and Career Success Coach to discuss the transfer process and to review your goals. 

  • Students can make appointments with their College and Career Success Coach (CCSC) by accessing their CCSC’s information in Self-Service using the following steps:
