Start Your Future in Advanced Manufacturing

The Navarro FAME Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) program is a five-semester, employer-sponsored pathway designed to prepare students for careers in modern manufacturing.

Students earn an Associate of Applied Science in AMT, along with a certificate and industry-recognized credentials, while gaining paid, hands-on experience throughout the program.

This structured earn-and-learn model allows students to graduate with both a degree and real-world experience already in place.

Is FAME Right for You?

This program may be a good fit if you:

  • Are career-focused and motivated to succeed

  • Want to earn a degree while gaining paid experience

  • Are interested in manufacturing or STEM-related careers

  • Prefer hands-on learning over traditional classroom-only instruction

  • Want to work with leading employers in the region

  • Plan to attend college locally while building a strong career foundation

  • Are committed to professionalism, attendance, and teamwork

  • Have long-term career and advancement goals.

National Association of Manufacturers Video:

Explore the unique genesis and inspiring story of the creation of the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME), the premier advanced manufacturing workforce development and education program. From its origins with Toyota to the move to The Manufacturing Institute (MI), learn why it was started, how it evolved, and what the future holds under the leadership of the MI.

How the Program Works

  • Attend class 2 days per week

  • Work 3 days per week with an employer sponsor

  • Earn competitive wages while enrolled

  • Graduate with 2 years of industry experience

This schedule ensures students immediately apply classroom learning in a real manufacturing environment.

Industry Partnerships

Navarro FAME is supported by a consortium of regional manufacturing employers committed to developing the next generation of skilled technicians. Employer partners:

  • Sponsor students through the program

  • Provide hands-on work training and mentorship

  • Help shape curriculum and skill development

This partnership ensures students graduate with the skills that align directly with workforce needs.

A Strong Foundation in Employer-Driven Education

Navarro College has a proven track record of industry-sponsored programs across multiple fields. The FAME program builds on that success by introducing a federation model, connecting students with a network of manufacturing partners.

The Navarro FAME Chapter is a part of the Texas FAME (TX FAME)—a statewide partnership of manufacturers working together to develop highly skilled talent.

The primary focus of Navarro FAME is to develop and grow a skilled pipeline of advanced manufacturing technicians through global-best workforce development in partnership with industry across Navarro, Ellis, Leon, Limestone, and Freestone counties.

Visit the National FAME page to explore how Texas FAME and the Navarro FAME Chapter contribute to a nationwide effort to build the next generation of advanced manufacturing talent.
