CORSICANA, Texas — Navarro College Athletics has announced the appointment of Jacques Guillot as Interim Head Football Coach for the Bulldogs football program, effective immediately for the Fall 2026 season.
Guillot, who has served on staff at Navarro since 2022, brings a strong track record of defensive excellence, player development, and championship success to the role. Navarro College competes in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference (SWJCFC) and the NJCAA, where the Bulldogs have captured national championships in 1989 and 2011.
“Jacques Guillot has proven himself as an outstanding leader and developer of student-athletes during his time at Navarro,” said Michael Landers, Executive Director for Student Services and Athletics. “His ability to motivate and mentor young men on and off the field makes him the right choice to lead our program during this transition.”
“I’m honored and grateful for the opportunity to lead Navarro College football,” said Guillot. “This program has a proud tradition of success, and I’m committed to continuing that legacy by developing our student-athletes and competing for championships. I’m excited to get to work with our players, staff, and community.”
Most recently, serving as Assistant Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, and Linebackers Coach, Guillot has overseen one of the premier defenses in junior college football. Over the past two seasons, Navarro’s defense recorded 21 interceptions and 11 forced fumble recoveries while allowing just 19.63 points per game. His units have consistently ranked among the conference and national leaders, including top conference finishes in total defense, rushing defense, and sacks.
In 2024, Guillot played a key role in leading Navarro to an SWJCFC Conference Championship and a Heart of Texas Bowl title. His defense ranked first in the conference in multiple categories, including rushing defense and third- and fourth-down efficiency, while also finishing among the top nationally in sacks.
Guillot has also demonstrated a strong commitment to player development. Under his guidance, Navarro has produced 17 All-Conference players, two All-Americans, and 13 Division I signees in the 2024–25 cycle. As linebackers coach, he mentored multiple All-Conference and All-American selections while helping several student-athletes advance to the Division I level.
Prior to Navarro, Guillot served at Cisco College, where he coached linebackers and assisted with strength and conditioning. During his tenure, Cisco won back-to-back SWJCFC Conference Championships (2020, 2021), and he helped develop multiple student-athletes who earned Division I scholarships.
A former collegiate student-athlete himself, Guillot holds a master’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University.
Navarro College looks forward to Guillot’s leadership as the Bulldogs continue to build on their championship tradition in the SWJCFC and NJCAA.
