Navarro College is proud to announce that the Board of Trustees has awarded the Associate of Applied Science, Honoris Causa to Mr. Jarrod McGhee, founder of Fun Town RV, in recognition of his visionary leadership, industry innovation, philanthropic commitment, and deep dedication to the Navarro College community.
Mr. McGhee has distinguished himself as a transformative leader in the recreational vehicle industry. As the founder of Fun Town RV, he has built the organization into the nation’s top towable RV dealership, setting new standards for customer service, operational excellence, and overall industry performance. His ongoing innovation—centered on customer-focused business practices and the integration of emerging technologies—has made RV ownership more accessible, efficient, and enjoyable for families across the country.
Throughout his career, Mr. McGhee has demonstrated unwavering commitment to community service. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he mobilized Fun Town RV’s resources to support frontline workers and local organizations, donating RV units and essential services that bolstered public health and safety efforts during a critical time.
Under his leadership, Fun Town RV has continued its strategic growth nationwide, including the recent opening of its 32nd dealership in Las Vegas, Nevada. This expansion reflects his steadfast dedication to quality, affordability, and exceptional customer care.
Beyond business accomplishments, Mr. McGhee exemplifies philanthropy and civic engagement. He has invested in initiatives that strengthen local economies and enrich the quality of life for families and communities served by Fun Town RV. His support of the Navarro College Foundation, most notably through active involvement in the annual Dancing for Our Stars fundraising event for the past five years, has been especially impactful. His personal commitment and contributions have helped provide more than 100 student scholarships and expanded essential college initiatives.
Mr. McGhee’s devotion to his hometown of Corsicana continues to shape Navarro College directly. His pivotal role in helping to launch the College’s RV Technician Training Program has created meaningful workforce opportunities, supported regional economic development, and contributed to the vitality of Navarro County.
“Jarrod McGhee’s leadership, generosity, and dedication to empowering others embody the highest ideals of Navarro College,” said President Dr. Kevin G. Fegan of Navarro College. “We are honored to recognize his outstanding contributions with this well-deserved honorary degree.”
The degree was formally conferred by the Navarro College Board of Trustees during the College’s commencement ceremony on Saturday, December 13.
