House Bill 558 (76th Legislature)

Requirement: Selective Service Requirement

Description: Texas House Bill 558 (HB 558), passed by the 76th Legislature, requires that males between the ages of 18 and 25 show proof of compliance with federal Selective Service law in order to be eligible for employment with the state.

Requirement: Assistance Liaison for Parenting Students

Description: Requires all public institutions of higher education to designate at least one employee to act as liaison officer for current or incoming students who are the parent or guardian of a child younger than 18 years of age.
