Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®)

Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) is the first step to receive financial aid at Navarro College. Use your Federal Student Aid Identification (FSA ID) and tax information to apply online. Our Financial Aid team is here to help students and parents with every step of the process.

 Important

  • Students and parents each need to create an account with StudentAid to get the FSA ID before starting the FAFSA®.

  • Good news! Tax returns from 2 years prior can be used toward the FAFSA® - No guessing required!

  • When you are completing the FAFSA® and need immediate assistance, a chat feature is available on the FAFSA® website or 1-800-4FED-AID.

  • If you would like to meet with a Financial Aid Success Coach, contact us by sending us an email or call (903) 875-7400, and we can schedule you for a virtual, phone, or in-person session.

  • After the FAFSA® is submitted, review your Student Aid Report (SAR) for any changes needed.

 Student Aid

FAFSA® helps determine what types of federal student aid you are eligible to receive.

  • GRANTS - Free money that doesn't have to be repaid.

  • WORK-STUDY - Gives you the opportunity to earn money to help pay for your education.

  • LOANS - Money that needs to be repaid with interest.

 After Completing the FAFSA®

Check Self-Service to find your award letter explaining what financial aid Navarro College is offering you.

This can also include state and institutional aid. If you list multiple schools as options in your FAFSA®, you may only receive federal aid from one institution per semester.

 The Financial Aid Process

1. START PLANNING EARLY

Develop a game plan so you can be prepared to pay for college.

2. FILL OUT THE FAFSA® FORM

Apply for the Federal Student Aid through the StudentAid website.

3. REVIEW YOUR OFFER

Compare the aid each school is offering, if you listed multiple schools. Accept your aid offer.

4. GET YOUR AID

Time for school! Aid goes to the school to cover tuition/fees first, then you will receive the rest for other college costs.

5. REPAY YOUR LOANS

Find an affordable repayment plan.

Submt your FAFSA® to Navarro College by using the Federal Code: 003593.

For more information on completing the FAFSA®, or finding a repayment plan that best suits you, visit the StudentAid website.

For any questions for Navarro College, send an email to the Financial Aid Success Coach.
