cartoon bulldog in hot air balloon with text "RISE-Navarro College QEP Initiative"

Rise Launch is a voluntary 16-week program for first-time college students and students returning after an extended break. Participants meet for one hour each week to explore topics such as College 101, identity, adaptability, resilience, and strategies for college success through interactive activities and student-led discussions.

Sign Up for Rise - Fall 2026

What will I do in this program?

  • Meet once a week for one hour

  • Play games, activities, and reflect on the topic of the week

  • Get to know other students who are just like you

  • Learn about how to be a successful student

  • Ask questions about college and get answers and support from staff

What will I learn about?

  • Yourself

  • Finding the system that works for YOU

  • Common mistakes college students make and how to avoid them

  • Things staff and faculty might think you already know but don’t (like what are office hours?)

  • Time management

  • How to find and get the help you need (Everyone needs help at some point – college can be hard!)

What Rise is:

Rise is here to support your success alongside the many great resources available on campus, including:

  • TRIO Student Support Services

  • Tutoring Services

  • Counseling/Bulldog Mental Wellness

We value these departments and encourage you to take full advantage of their services.  Student Video Testimonial

Hear from one of our students about their experience with Navarro College's QEP initiative, RISE Launch. In this testimonial, they share how the program shaped their college transition, strengthened their resilience, and helped them make meaningful connections with peers and faculty. Their story illustrates how the QEP is making a real difference - not just as a concept, but as a lived experience.

A Quality Enhancement Plan is a long-term, college-wide project focused on the improvement, enrichment, and enhancement of the student learning experience – and a major part of our reaffirmation process through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), a regional accreditation agency for higher education institutions in the Southern states.
