Laura Brisneo

Department Chair, NC Department of Visual Arts; Associate Professor


Ms. Laura Briseno, MFA, teaches art history, design, drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and photography courses and has been a member of the NC faculty since 2019. Between receiving her degrees, Brisneo has traveled and worked as a wardrobe attendant and craft technician for Cirque Du Soleil (Los Angeles and Las Vegas) and Franco Dragone (Macau, China).  Her teaching experience includes University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley and Idea Public Schools (Alama College Prep).
 
Briseno's work explores historical, social, and cultural representations of diverse subjects through textile art. She has exhibited in both solo and groups nationally.
 
Briseno holds a Bachelor of  Arts in Fashion Design from the University of the Incarnate Word and a Masters of Fine Arts in Studio Art from University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley. She is a current Ph.D student at the University of the Incarnate Word.
