Mission Statement


The Mission of the Navarro College Libraries is to support, enrich, and participate in teaching and learning at the college. Librarians work with faculty to develop library resources, services, and information literacy instruction that assist students to achieve a broad foundation in the liberal arts and sciences, prepare for careers or further study, and develop an appreciation of the value of learning as a lifelong endeavor.

The library staff is dedicated to providing welcoming, caring, and professional service and maintaining a place that is conducive to reading, study, and independent learning.

Note: The Richard M. Sanchez Library serves the academic mission of the college. It has been designated a Quiet Area devoted to study and academic pursuits.

HOLIDAY HOURS

The library will be closed August 30th-September 1st for Labor Day. The library will be closed November 26-30 for Thanksgiving. The library will also be closed December 19, 2025 through January 4, 2026 for Christmas and New Years.

 

STAFF HOURS

Each branch Library is open during regular location hours and offers access to computers for research and access to our Navarro College Library eBooks and database articles. Librarians are available at the times listed below to assist you with the library resources.

 

*NAVARRO COLLEGE-WAXAHACHIE library is staffed on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM during Fall/Spring hours.   

 

**NAVARRO COLLEGE-MIDLOTHIAN library is staffed during Fall/Spring hours on the following days:

  • Mondays from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM

  • Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM

  • Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

  • Thursday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM 

 

***A librarian is normally available in the NAVARRO COLLEGE-MEXIA library once a week. A librarian is available to provide library use instruction to classes at the Mexia location at any time upon request of faculty. Students should contact a member of the library staff if they need assistance in using library resources. See a complete list of Navarro College Libraries staff.

 

LOCATIONS

Navarro College maintains library facilities on all four campus locations. The Navarro College Archives are located on the Corsicana location in the Pearce Museum.
