About Evelyn Glass
She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree and Master’s of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Tennessee. She has over 30 years experience teaching, with 25 of those years at NC, along with practical experience in the medical hospital lab. She has taught at universities such as University of Tennessee, University of Arizona, and UT Southwestern.
“My position at Navarro College allowed me to the opportunity to advance my career as director of the medical laboratory technology program. An added advantage is that it is close to where I lived. I have enjoyed my experience working with students interested in entering the field of laboratory medicine. Most of our graduates work in the hospitals and clinics that we use as clinical sites. Many have moved into supervisory positions and even graduated from medical school. My favorite memories are of my students graduating.
NC has been very supportive of the program and has allowed it to prosper. The hospital clinical sites are also very supportive in providing the clinical experience for students. The clinical sites hire most of our graduates within a couple of months of graduation. The students in the program are hard-working and dedicated to achieving their goal of becoming a medical laboratory technician. Many of them continue in a BS program to become medical laboratory scientists.”
