Police Academy Program Schedules

Basic Peace Officer Training Course Information for Day Academy

  • Offered during Fall and Spring semesters on Corsicana & Waxahachie locations (dependant on enrollment numbers).

  • Classes are held Monday through Friday. Class hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Some weekend commitments are required.

 

Basic Peace Officer Training Course Information for Night Academy

  • Two semesters – Fall and Spring semesters either for Corsicana or Waxahachie locations.

  • Classes are held Monday through Thursday.

  • Class hours are from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with some weekend classes (Saturday/Sunday) required. 

          • Emergency Driving, Firearms Training, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST), and Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Level 1 will have an alternative schedule including some 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. class time.

VirTra Simulator Training

Navarro College Police Academy has the capability to provide departments with "real-world" training utilizing the VirTra V-100 simulator. Email the Police Academy Coordinator for more information about simulator training options.  All VirTra Training is International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) Certified and will be reported to TCOLE for training hours.
