      Academy Tuition and Financial Aid


      Information about the Police Academy Tuition, Fees, and Financial Assistance

       

      Tuition

      Tuition & Fees for Basic Peace Officer Course $2,554.09

      Tuition includes professional instruction in Basic Peace Officer I, II, III, IV and Police Academy Fitness I.  For a description of each of these courses follow the WECM (Course Descriptions) link.  Fees for Basic Peace Officer Course covers text books, CPR Certification, Ammunition for firearms training, 1 Uniform Shirt, 1 PT T-shirt, 1 Police Academy Hoodie and a supplemental insurance policy.

      Tuition and fees must be paid in full prior to the first day of class. Payment must be given to the Cashier’s Office and is payable on any NC campus. No funds will be accepted at the Police Academy.  

       

      Financial Aid

      Financial Aid is available to Basic Peace Officer students who qualify. It takes several weeks to process the application and to receive your approved benefits.       Scholarships

      The Officer Brent Thompson Memorial Scholarship was established in 2016 by the family, friends, and community in loving memory of Brent Thompson. He was a 1997 graduate of the Navarro College Police Academy and served almost two decades in the law enforcement for the Corsicana Police department and the Dallas Dart Police department. This scholarship is open to all police academy applicants who reside in Navarro or Ellis counties. There will be a $2800 scholarship awarded. The funds may be used for tuition, books, and fees.       Military/Veterans

      Veterans/Texas Veterans may qualify for financial aid through the Veterans Certifying Official at Navarro College. It takes several weeks to process Veterans benefits. Please apply well in advance of the course start date. For Qualification information on the Hazelwood Act, please go to: /veterans/state-benefits/ or contact mark.sjostrom@navarrocollege.edu, Veterans Certifying Official at (903) 875-7347.

       

      Agency Sponsored Students

      Any student attending the Navarro College Police Academy under the sponsorship of an agency must complete and return these two forms: Declaration of Licensing Course Enrollment Eligibility and Law Enforcement Agency Audit Checklist. Please follow the directions completely. Prior to returning the agency sponsorship forms to Navarro College Police Academy offices, please obtain a copy of your L2 Medical Declaration and L3 Psychological Declaration from your agency. You will be required to submit the TCOLE FAST form prior to admission to the academy. Sponsorship is NOT a requirement of attendance.

       

      Refund Information

      Refunds for Continuing Education courses WILL NOT be offered after the first day of class.
