The Health Professions Office at Navarro College provides specialized advising and resources for students who are pursuing careers in health-related fields. Our primary goal is to support students as they navigate academic pathways and career options in health professions, which can often feel complex due to the many opportunities available.

Scholarships for Health Professions Students
Each year, the Health Professions Office awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to support students in nursing and allied health programs. Both prospective and current students are encouraged to apply.
Available Scholarships

Joe and Shirley Nussbaum Nursing Scholarship - Established for Navarro College students who are enrolled in the ADN or LVN program.

Louis and Ann Wolens Health Professions Scholarship - Funded by the estate of Louis and Ann Wolens to assist students in the nursing, MLT, OTA, and PTA programs.

Melanie Ashmore Scholarship - Assists ADN students who are residents of Freestone, Limestone or Navarro County.

Dr. Earl and Mrs. Margaret Kinzie Scholarship (ADN) - Established to award recipients who are in the ADN program.

Dr. Earl and Mrs. Margaret Kinzie Scholarship (LVN) - Established to award recipients who are in the ADN and LVN program.

Ollie Bius Memorial Scholarship - Established for ADN students who are Navarro County residents.

Ruth Nobles Memorial Scholarship - Recipients must be an African-American student in the ADN or LVN program.

Bob and Beanie McElroy Nursing Scholarship - Assists students who are enrolled in the LVN, ADN, LVN-to-RN Bridge, or RN-to-BSN program.

United Methodist Women Grace Swinborn Jaynes Memorial Scholarship - Funded by the United Methodist Women's Auxiliary in Corsicana, the scholarship awards recipients who are single mothers enrolled in the ADN or LVN program.

Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) – Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)

Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) – Texas Board of Nursing (BON)

Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) – National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS)

Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) – Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
Navarro College is approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and is a member of the Texas Association of Community Colleges and the American Association of Community Colleges.
Navarro College represents itself accurately to all U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting agencies with which it holds accreditation and informs those agencies of any change of accreditation status, including the imposition of public sanctions. The Vice President of Academic Affairs, who also serves as Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) liaison, is responsible for notification of accreditors when a change in accreditation status occurs.
