State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA)

Navarro College participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements.

Navarro College offers courses, associate degrees and certificate programs that may lead to professional licensure and/or certification. Successful completion of the programs listed below may potentially lead to professional licensure, registration, or certification. Licensure, registration, or certification may be global, national, or state-specific. The following programs meet requirements for the State of Texas. Requirements for other states may vary. If you currently live in a state other than Texas or intend to move to a state other than Texas and use the education completed at Navarro College to sit for such an exam, be aware there may be additional requirements.

Please contact the appropriate administering body and/or the college contact for the program to discuss your intentions.

Programs that meet educational requirements for all fifty states

The professional licensure, registration, or certification for the following programs meets the educational requirements for all fifty (50) states:

  • Pharmacy Technician

  • Recreational Vehicle (RV) Technician Program

     

Programs that meet educational requirements for the State of Texas only

The professional licensure, registration, or certification for the following programs meets the educational requirements for the State of Texas only:

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

  • Certified Nurse Aide Program

  • Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technician

  • Emergency Medical Technician

  • Fire Training Academy

  • Medication Aide

  • Paramedic Program

  • Patient Care Technician

  • Phlebotomy

  • Police Academy

 

Additional Program Licensure Information


Associate Degree Nursing (ADN):

The Associate Degree Nursing professional licensure, registration, or certification meets the educational requirements for all states except the following: Alaska, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington.

Vocational Nursing (LVN):

The Vocational Nursing professional licensure, registration, or certification meets the educational requirements for states except the following: Alaska, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington.

Please note that in other states outside of Texas, this licensure may be referred to as Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN). LVN and LPN are the same licensure.

Cosmetology:

The Cosmetology professional licensure, registration, or certification meets the educational requirements for the State of Texas. It is undetermined whether this program meets the educational requirements for the following states: Alaska, Delaware, Oregon, and Utah. This program does not meet the educational requirements for any other state.

Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT):

The Medical Laboratory Technology certification meets the educational requirements for the following states: California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, New York, North Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia.

Occupational Therapy Assistant:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure, registration, or certification meets the educational requirements for the following states: Ohio, Texas.

It is undetermined whether this program meets the educational requirements for any other state.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA):

The Physical Therapist Assistant licensure, registration, or certification meets the educational requirements for states except the following: Alabama, Alaska, California, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wyoming.
